Don’t learn by trial and error. This course covers a range of pilates exercises modified for SUP and how to perform them, risk management and safety, equipment to use and how to anchor boards, example session plans and more.

An ASI accredited SUP Pilates Instructors are part of the ASI worldwide community. Your qualification is international. You get to work with great people in amazing locations.
Aim
Deliver SUP Pilates sessions at flat water locations, no more than 50 metres from shore.
Locations
Qualified to teach at SUP Pilates locations, defined as:
inland waters or coastal locations with flat water, no swell or breaking waves, minimal or no wind
water depth no more than 4ft
no more than 50 metres from shore
paddling less than 50 metres to get to the SUP pilates activity area
Note: This SUP Pilates Instructor qualification does not qualify you to deliver sessions in deep water or paddling more than 50 metres.
Optional: Once you have completed this ASI SUP Pilates Instructor course, you can enrol in the ASI Level 1 SUP Instructor (Enclosed Flat water) course – as this covers teaching paddling skills for clients and safely managing clients in deep water.

Entry Requirements
Before starting this course:
hold a Pilates Level 3 Teaching Certificate or equivalent
have participated in, or practiced on your own, a minimum of 10 hours of SUP pilates sessions.
a minimum of 20 hours on water SUP paddling experience.
able to paddle a SUP board with confidence
English speaking skills

Course Requirements

Knowledge and Skills
Review SUP Pilates Instructor theory, complete assessments and exercises.
Review of basic stand up paddling skills and basic rescue skills.
Complete multi-choice online tests.
Demonstrate ability to perform SUP pilates exercises with safety.
Demonstrate ability to prepare the class - enter the water, anchoring, organise group ready to start the session.
Demonstrate ability to conduct class with correct sequencing, techniques and safety.
Practical Hours Experience
Complete 10 hours practical work experience, assisting in the delivery of SUP Pilates sessions at an ASI or approved SUP school.
Recognition of previous SUP pilates instructing experience can be accepted.

Submit your SUP Pilates Teaching certificate - submit at time of enrolment
Submit a current senior first aid certificate Acceptable First Aid certificates

Submit Working with Children Check: if applicable to your country.
Note: First Aid Certificate can be provided before or after workshop or within 12 months of enrolment.
Time to Complete: You have 12 months from date of workshop, or date of online enrolment, to complete all course requirements.
Re-assessment Fees
Re-assessment fee applies if not yet competent in SUP pilates exercises, ability to prepare class, ability to conduct class. See Fees
Equipment
The following equipment and clothing is required to complete the training:
SUP flat water SUP board, paddle, coiled leash
SUP clothing suitable for SUP Pilates
Computer or mobile phone to access SUP Wise Intensiv and SUP Rescue online reference manuals
In addition, for the Online learning option:
Video camera or mobile phone to take video of practical skills and submit online
2 x persons to be your clients
