You'll learn to deliver safe, effective sessions that improve clients' balance, strength, and flexibility, while enjoying the natural and calming environment of the water.

Modular Learning / Enrolment Options
ASI’s unique modularised learning offers flexibility in what you enrol and pay for.
To gain your ASI SUP Pilates Instructor qualification, the following 3 courses / manuals are required:

Plus access to online course manuals for:
2. ASI SUP Wise Intensiv (Stand Up Paddle Skills)
3. ASI SUP Rescue course (Rescue Skills)
These courses provide access to the online manuals, allowing you to learn more about these skills and complete online quizzes.
While completing these courses is not required to obtain your SUP Pilates Instructor certificate, you may choose to submit additional evidence to obtain these 2 certifications.
Enrolment
Enrol in all 3 courses at the same time by choosing the “Combined” enrolment option.
If you already hold an approved Rescue certificate, you only need to enrol in the following 2 ASI courses:

If you have the ASI SUP Wise Intensiv certificate, you only need to enrol in the following 2 ASI courses:

Aim
Deliver SUP Pilates sessions at flat water locations, in waist deep water, no more than 50 metres from shore.
Locations / Remit
Qualified to teach at SUP Pilates locations, defined as:
inland waters or coastal locations with flat water, no swell or breaking waves, minimal or no wind
water depth no more than 4ft (standing depth)
no more than 50 metres from shore
paddling less than 50 metres to get to the SUP pilates activity area

Entry Requirements
Before starting this course:
hold a Level 3 Pilates Teaching Certificate or equivalent
have participated in, or practiced on your own, a minimum of 10 hours of SUP pilates sessions.
a minimum of 20 hours on water SUP paddling experience.
able to paddle a SUP board with confidence
English speaking skills (online courses have translation).

Workshop:
Ideal for people who like to complete most of the course requirements at the workshop and interact with the trainer.
Face to face training with highly qualified ASI Trainers, the best in the industry.
Complete most course requirements at the workshop.
Held in great locations throughout the world.
Duration: 2 days, plus 1-2 hours post workshop test, plus 8 hours practical experience.
Online Learning:
Ideal for people who are already experienced or would like flexibility to complete their training.
Work at your own pace.
Using ASI's e-learning platform with access to training manuals, videos, reference materials and assessments.
Can obtain additional coaching with face to face support from ASI Technical Coaches / ASI Accredited Schools.
Duration: approx. 30 hours plus 10 hours practical experience.
Course Requirements - Workshop
Face to face (in-person) training. Complete most course requirements at the workshop.
Duration: 2 days.

Complete theory assessments and exercises & practice on water.
Practice SUP paddle skills and SUP rescues
Demonstrate ability to perform SUP pilates exercises with safety.
Demonstrate ability to prepare the class - enter the water, anchoring, organise group ready to start the session.
Demonstrate ability to conduct SUP Pilates class with correct sequencing, techniques and safety.
After workshop:
Complete multi-choice online tests
Complete 10 hours of practical experience (2 hours signed off in workshop).
Assisting in the delivery of SUP Pilates sessions at an ASI accredited SUP school or other approved SUP school. Submit logbook of hours and declaration signed by SUP school owner.
Alternative practical hours experience is available if no ASI school nearby to you.
Recognition of previous SUP pilates instruction experience can be accepted.
Other:

Submit a current senior first aid certificate Acceptable First Aid certificates
Submit identification

The following equipment and clothing is required to complete the training:
SUP flat water SUP board, paddle, coiled leash
SUP clothing suitable for SUP Pilates
Computer or mobile phone to access SUP Wise Intensiv and SUP Rescue online reference manuals
In addition, for the Online learning option:
Video camera or mobile phone to take video of practical skills and submit online
2 x persons to be your clients

Renewal
Each year, Instructors renew their ASI SUP Pilates Instructor certificate.

FAQ's
Prior Qualifications: Hold a minimum Level 3 Pilates Teacher certification (or similar).
SUP Experience: You should have at least 20 hours on water paddling experience.
SUP Pilates Experience: You should have attended SUP Pilates sessions or practiced on your own for at least 10 hours.
Can I enrol in the SUP Rescue and SUP Wise Intensiv courses at a later time? Yes, you can. However, your SUP Pilates Instructor certificate will only be issued once you have enrolled in these courses, reviewed the information, and completed the online quiz.
Time to Complete: You have 12 months to complete all course requirements.
