SUP Wise Intensiv for Instructors

This workshop:
has been created for potential ASI SUP Instructors who are also enrolled in the ASI Level 1 SUP Instructor workshop.
is practical on water skills only. And combines with online learning.
is to review, discuss, understand and practice correct techniques and skills according to the ASI guidelines.
It ensures ASI SUP instructors have the same base knowledge prior to attending the ASI Level 1 SUP Instructor workshop.
Enrolment
You would enrol in SUP Wise Intensiv workshop at the same time as the Level 1 SUP Instructor workshop.
All SUP Wise Intensiv workshops are conducted prior to attending the Level 1 SUP Instructor course.
If you are not attending the Level 1 SUP instructor workshop, then you would enrol in the Online SUP Wise Intensiv course.
Aim
This workshop is only for potential ASI SUP Instructors and ensures ASI SUP instructors have the same base knowledge prior to attending the ASI Level 1 SUP Instructor workshop.
Locations
The course applies to inland waterways including rivers, lakes, lagoons, estuaries, canals, with calm water conditions being:
flat water, with no swell or breaking waves
minimal water flow (less than 2 knots/ 2.3 miles per hour)
wind speed less than 12 knots
no more than 250 metres from shore

Entry Requirements
Able to swim 100 metres
Have at least 100 hours on water SUP paddling experience
Have enrolled in the ASI Level 1 SUP Instructor workshop
Equipment
The following is required to complete the training:
Flat water stand up paddle board, paddle, coiled leash
SUP clothing suitable for paddling
Camera to take video (eg mobile phone)
Computer or mobile phone to access online manuals/ASI e-learning platform

Certificate Issued
On successful completion and deemed competent you will be awarded:
ASI SUP Wise Intensiv certificate
ASI Stand Up Paddlers Card (Enclosed Flat Water)
(This handy credit card sized card may be used to rent SUP boards or gain entry into higher level SUP courses.)

Course Requirements - Workshop
Duration: 3 hours.
All on water practical skills.
Prior to Workshop
Read online manual and view videos
At Workshop
Review ASI guidelines and practice correct techniques
Demonstrate other paddle skills at the workshop – including : enter and exit water, falling off, getting back on, paddling on knees, turning strokes.
After Workshop
Submit video of paddle stroke technique (3 short videos 1 min each - left side, right side, front on)
