Dave Knight Close to Completing Epic SUP Challenge

UK, England.

SUP challenges come in all shapes and sizes. From fun-sized local events to gruelling endurance paddles, the ways in which paddlers challenge themselves is as wide and diverse as the people taking to the water.

However, occasionally a challenge will surface that truly appears to push the boundaries.

For ASI Instructor, Dave Knight, the idea for his own pushing of the boundaries occurred one summer night in Abersoch, North Wales.

Waking from sleep, he had a clear picture about the challenge he would strive to complete. It was to be called sup3six5 and what a challenge it was!

Dave decided to dedicate himself to paddling his SUP every single day across the course of an entire year. The plan formed from a desire to heighten awareness of mental health struggles whilst raising money for the charity, MIND.

This Knight had his quest, and it was one that would change his life forever.

As of today, Monday October 18th, Dave is paddling out on day 353. Every day of his extraordinary adventure so far has been documented across social media with a daily commentary from Dave on the highs and lows.

With the finish line now in sight and not a day missed, Dave’s journey is almost done. However, there is still time to give him the boost he so thoroughly deserves before he completes his quest with a night paddle on the waters of Wild Shore Delamere.

Donations will still be gratefully accepted at Dave’s JustGiving page and you can follow the days still to come and those already past on his Instagram site.

As an added bonus, ASI Instructors attending the AIR Retreat in Hayle will get the chance to hear the man himself give a talk about his epic sup3six5 story. Instructors not yet signed up to attend can find more information here.

ASI wish Dave all the very best as he paddles for home.
