Double NWF Awards win for ASI Trainer Chris Kenyon

Congratulations to our very own ASI Trainer Chris Kenyon from Central SUP in Tamworth, Midlands UK, who has won the National Watersports SUP Coach Award 2017.
The National Watersports Festival is held each year at Rutland Water, the largest reservoir in Europe and took place on 2-4th June 2017.
The event organisers hold an awards ceremony designed to recognise outstanding individuals and groups in watersports.
The award for Stand up Paddle Club of the year also went to ASI SUP Training Centre Central SUP, also owned and run by Chris.
Chris says: “It was a fantastic honour to win both awards at Rutland. I was responsible for delivering the SUP disciple of the National Watersports Festival. The 2nd largest mass participation, multi-disciplined watersports event in Europe.
“This year the at the NWF, hundreds of people took part in both SUP and other watersports activities. My team and I organised three days of activities for paddlers including Nisco 1, Naish sprints, Dragon SUP racing, SUP polo and a distance race. Teams competed to gain points to win the challenges and get an overall trophy.
“Everyone had a great time and we worked really hard to ensure the event went well so it was a well-deserved award win for all the team.”
Chris has taught countless SUP lessons and introduced a lot of people into SUP over the last 5 years at Central SUP school. Chris pioneered the development of the SUP scene in the Midlands. He is a club advisor for SUP clubs, a race and SUP surf competitor and is a SUP event and race organiser.
Central SUP is an ASI Stand Up Paddle Instructor Training Centre, based in Tamworth England UK.
The next National Watersports Festival will be held on the 8th to 10th June 2018 next year.
