Entries still open for the ASI sponsored, Irish Winter SUP Race Series Race 1

2022 sees the start of the Irish Winter Paddle Board Series.

4 Races Starting January 30th on the Barrow Navigation, February Date/Location TBC, March 26th Dublin and Finishing in Galway on the weekend of April 23rd/24th.

Classes will be

Female Race Boards and All Round Boards

Male Race Boards and All Round Boards

Race courses will be based on sheltered, flat waters, Race Distances may vary from event to event but will be around 5/6km for All Round class and 10-15km for Race Board Class. Event Organisers will decide what works best for their event location.

Races will be open to Novice and Experienced paddlers alike. Pre-entry will be required for all races.

Points will be awarded for each finishing position in each event and at the end of the series overall rankings will be decided.

Race 1

January 30th we will be hosting the First event of the Series in Vicarstown Co,Laois on the Barrow Navigation Vicarstown

Entries will open January 14th

Racer Registration will open on the Day at 10am with Race Briefing at 10.30am and Racing starting between 10:45 & 11am.

Race Distances will be

Race Boards 12km

All Round Boards 6km

Race Boards are classed as any board over 11ft Maximum length 14th

All Rounders are classed as 11ft and Under.

All racers must wear a leash and a PFD (Vest or Belt pfd). All racers must carry a phone in case of emergency!
