Introducing ASI SUP Instructor - Lucas Martinez

Introducing ASI SUP Instructor Lucas Martinez. With an ASI qualification it allows to work in places around the world and Lucas has done just that. Born in France he has taught in places all over the world including France, Perth in Australia and currently planning a trip to South America to instruct there too.

1.       What is your background?

I was working in hospitality mostly for 5 years and after that I was working as freelance videographer. 

2.       What got you involved in the sport?

 I was involved in sport since I was a child maybe 6 years old. I went into SUP 5 years ago in the French Mediterranean Coast and start improved my skills 2 years ago when I went to Australia. 

3.       Why did you become an ASI instructor?

 I become an ASI instructor to get a job as SUP Manager in Perth. 

4.       What are you doing now?

 Currently I'm back in France and working on different projects with my video company. I’m planning a trip in South America for next year and looking for job as SUP Instructor there. 

5.       What do you like about being an ASI instructor?

 I like the way I can travel and look for job everywhere I go in the world. I also love the lifestyle when I work as ASI Instructor, very nice way to spend the way teaching and sharing moments with people. 

6.       Tell us about funny or interesting or nice situation that has happened to you with instructing?

An early morning, I was paddling with 2 customers showing the really nice spot we had in Perth. It was very quiet and very peaceful and something hit my board underneath. I was a bit scared and we saw a family of dolphins going out of the water and they played around all along the tour. It was so nice!
