Introducing ASI SUP Instructor and Trainer - Tony Lee

SINGAPORE. Introducing ASI SUP Instructor Tony Lee based in Singapore. Tony used to run his own training and consulting company, after semi-retiring his love for water sports led him to becoming an ASI SUP Instructor.

What is your background?
I have a Master in Education and MSc in training from Leicester. I run my own training and consulting company from 1993-2014 before I volunteered to represent Verse by Verse Ministry international as Director of Asia. 
 
What got you involved in the sport?
I keep fit by getting involved in water sport. I used to windsurf for many years and then a friend asked me to try SUP. 
 
Why did you become an ASI instructor? 
Teaching is and has always been my first love. So, when my friend asked me to take up the instructor course, I just said ok. And that how I became an ASI instructor. 
 
What are you doing now?
I’m semi-retired from training and consulting, doing ministry work for Vbvmi and teaching SUP weekly. I’m also an ASI SUP trainer, running workshops so new instructors can get their ASI qualifications
 
What do you like about being an ASI instructor?
The quality of the teaching materials and the standards that ASI has for all SUP paddlers and instructors. It’s second to none.
 
Tell us about funny or interesting or nice situation that has happened to you with instructing?
Getting senior citizens on the paddle board, seeing their smile when they eventually stand up on the board and paddle. Every time seeing the smile on their face is worth all the effort teaching them.
