Introducing ASI Surf Instructor - Tristan Bradshaw

AUSTRALIA.  NSW BROULEE. Introducing Tristan Bradshaw an ASI Surf Instructor based on the South Coast in NSW. Tristan started surfing as soon as he could walk. He currently casually instructs with ASI accredited school ‘Surf the Bay’ and also is a teacher’s aide at a local high school where he helps to teach the students to surf.

1.       What is your background?
I started surfing as soon as I could walk. I grew up on the Mid Coast of South Australia with very average waves. My older mates would then take me, at any opportunity, over West to surf the proper reef breaks.
 
2.       What got you involved in the sport?
 A love of the ocean and all things fish and surf. My Mum would wait in the car patiently.
 
3.       Why did you become an ASI instructor?
 On moving to the South Coast of NSW, I met Tim and Glenn from Surf the Bay Surf School and they hooked me up with casual work as a surf teacher. 
 
4.       What are you doing now?
 Now, I am a Teacher's Aide in the Support Unit at a local High School where I also help to teach the students to surf.
 
5.       What do you like about being an ASI instructor?
 The camaraderie and the quality qualifications. 
 
6.       Tell us about funny or interesting or nice situation that has happened to you with instructing?
 I have a repeat client who is legally blind. He puts his heart and soul into each lesson and his Mum sits on the beach with a massive grin.
