PHILIPPINES. Our hardworking Secretary of Tourism Berna Romulo Puyat took time to send the Academy of Surfing Instructors, Philippines (ASIP) a message of support, despite her busy schedule in the senate hearing today! The D.O.T. has been training local surf instructors through ASIP in surf regions all over the country. Mabuhay!

MESSAGE FROM: Secretary of Tourism, Berna Romulo Puyat sent to ASIP this message this morning.
"The Department of Tourism is committed to hasten the development of the surfing industry in the Philippines. And we take pride that our surfing destinations are at par with the best in the world. We thank ASIP for being a partner of the Department in setting and implementing standards for instructors and surfing schools. This is crucial to our growth as a surfing destination assuring safety, security, and well being of Filipino and foreign surfers enjoying our waves. Mabuhay!"
