Paddle League a Boost for SUP

The new Paddle League is now formed.  It provides a world tour for SUP competitors.   

SUP is an industry that is currently being torn apart by the surfing and canoe federations claiming SUP as their own. 

The Paddle League is simply about enough is enough.  

SUP is a unique sport and should be represented by its own. 

They’re aiming to help unify, elevate and grow the great standalone events around the world while providing the elite athletes, weekend warriors, brands, fans and media a wider platform to stand on.

 As well as reconnecting SUP with its “grassroots” foundation, which means a stronger emphasis on amateurs, juniors and simply getting more people out there on the water for the first time. Because that’s the heart of our sport.

The Paddle League will showcase 9 major international races in season 2018 along with two-dozen grassroots regional events, which will all be interlinked on the new rankings leaderboard. 

There will also be ~24 Paddle League-affiliated regional races in the US, Hawaii Europe, Asia, Australia, South America

It is the brain child of   Chris Parker (from Australia and founder of SUP Racer e-mag), Kelly Margetts (from Australia an elite SUP athlete) and Brian Meyer (From USA and events organiser) and has involved many people.

The Paddle League is supported by majority of the best SUP athletes in the world. 

It’s the first step.  

And we’re sure to see some exciting times ahead.
