SUP Seal Encounter: Lincolnshire England UK

HELP

The River Witham is a beautiful and mostly remote river that meanders mostly through the English county of Lincolnshire in the UK and an increasingly popular place to spot seals when out and about on a paddle board.

It’s not unusual to see seals in freshwater rivers in the UK around September onwards as

this is when they make their way up river to reside for the Winter months.

Carolyn Smith got in touch with us to tell us about her encounter with Dandy, and not for the first time either!   She knows that is his name as he is wearing a tag.

Carolyn has seen him flirt with paddlers on several occasions and tells us he seems very keen on swimming alongside paddleboards!

“This time he was swimming alongside us as we paddled until he decided to get onto my board on the front, which was mega awkward and I almost ended up in the river!  He stayed on my board for a good 10 minutes and he weighs a ton too!
