A general beginners guide for the length of your paddle is:
PADDLE LENGTH = YOUR HEIGHT +
- 6” - 8” for SURFING – shorter paddle length for lower stance and more powerful strokes
- 8” - 10” for FLATWATER - paddle handle should be no higher than your eye-line in mid stroke
- 10” - 12” for RACING – Longer paddle for greater reach and leverage.
This is just a starting point and should be tweaked according to your needs.
