Position: Surf School Manager/Operation Coordinator
Location: Mojo Surf, Byron Bay
Type: Full-Time
Overview:
The Surf School Manager/Operation Coordinator at Mojo Surf Byron Bay is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Surf School, ensuring high-quality service, safety, and satisfaction for all clients. This role involves managing a team of surf instructors, coordinating lessons, maintaining equipment, and promoting the school’s services.
Key Responsibilities:
Operations Coordinator:
○ Plan, organize, and coordinate surf lessons and camps.
○ Ensure the surf school's smooth day-to-day operations.
○ Develop and implement operational policies and procedures.
○ Maintain high standards of customer service and satisfaction.
○ Handle client inquiries and feedback.
○ Report to Head office.
Team Coordinator:
○ Recruit, train, and supervise surf instructors and support staff.
○ Create staff schedules and manage shift assignments.
○ Conduct regular staff meetings and training sessions.
○ Evaluate staff performance and provide constructive feedback.
Safety and Compliance:
○ Ensure all surf lessons adhere to safety standards and guidelines.
○ Conduct regular safety drills and equipment inspections.
○ Manage emergency response procedures and first aid supplies.
○ Maintain up-to-date knowledge of surf conditions and local regulations.
Equipment and Facility Management:
○ Oversee the maintenance and inventory of surfboards, wetsuits, and other equipment.
○ Coordinate repairs and replacements as necessary.
○ Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the facility and equipment storage areas.
Qualifications and Requirements
● Proven experience in a managerial role within the surf industry or a similar field.
● Strong knowledge of surfing, including techniques, safety protocols, and equipment.
● Excellent leadership and team management skills.
● Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities.
● Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
● Proficiency in basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office, booking systems).
● Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
● Valid ASI surf instructor certification and first aid/CPR certification.
● Knowledge of the Byron Bay area and local surf spots.
● Driving license with experience of at least 4 years driving.
● LR driving license & Driver Authority is highly desirable.
