Who is Captain Goodvibes?

Captain Goodvibes is an icon of Australian surfing culture from the 1970s. A comic creation, in the days when single fins ruled, Australia was still in Vietnam and censorship from 1960s had created many underground publications. Surfers around the world rebelled against commercialistion of surfing, there was a feeling  of anti-authoritarianism. From 1971 to 1983,  Captain Goodvibes become a sort of mascot for Tracks Surf Magazine, representing fun and larrikin humour. enjoying life and not conforming to the mainstream.
