ASI Portugal (ASIP Lda) delivers ASI training and monitors education and accreditation standards in Portugal for surfing, SUP and bodyboarding.

The Portugal office is based at Sagres, Algarve. 

ASI has been delivering training in Portugal since 2011.   For most of that time, ASI was the only provider of surfing and SUP instructor training. 

ASI is the industry leader in the Portugal and was involved in providing information to local government to create permits for the busy Algarve region.

ASI local trainers are Portuguese and are fluent in English and also speak some other languages. 


DGERT Training Organisation

ASI Portugal DGERT certifiedASI Portugal (ASIP) is a DGERT Certified Training Organisation in the area of Sport, issuing EQF (European Qualifications Framework) certificates.  
Endorsed by the Directorate-General for Employment and Labour Relations (DGERT) who are responsible for management of the Training Entities Certification System in Portugal.   ASIP Registration Information



IPDJ Approved Training Provider  

ASIP Portugal IPDJ Training providerASI Portugal (ASIP) is approved to deliver  IPDJ Approved Training Provider for Surfing instructor training course "Treinadores de Surfing Grau 1 and 2.

Associação De Escolas De Surf De Portugal  (AESDP)    
Portuguese Association of Surf Schools

ASIP Portugal AESDP partnerASI partners with the AESDP Association to help promote training, education and safety standards in Portugal.
The Association represents the interests of instructors and surf schools and similar operators in Portugal and liaises with government departments on regulation, education and environmental concerns that can affect the livelihood of surf school operators.  Surfing tourism is a major part of the economy in Portugal and government rules and regulations and changes occur regularly that affect operators and instructors.   The Association is the voice for the surf school sector in Portugal so they can be heard and be treated fairly.
