Overview
ASI UK delivers ASI training and monitors education and accreditation standards for: surfing, stand up paddle, bodyboarding.
ASI started operating in the UK in 2010. When the British Surfing Association (BSA) went bankrupt in 2011, ASI was the only provider of surfing instructor training for the UK for many years.
In 2011, ASI started delivering SUP Instructor training.
The UK office is based at Hayle, Cornwall England and services UK, Europe and the Middle East.
ASI is the industry leader in the UK and regularly provides industry information to local government regarding permit and tender requirements. ASI is also consulted in relation to providing expert witness information for legal injury cases.
AALA
ASI is an Adventure Activity Licencing Authority (AALA) recognised training provider. AALA is the government department of UK Health & Safety responsible for licencing adventure activity centres providing activities for children (under 18 years of age).
Norfolk Broads Authority, England
ASI is a Broads Authority (covering Norfolk and Suffolk, England waterways) recognised SUP training provider.
Other
Cornwall Council (England) WAVES surf school licence scheme recognised provider.
Partnered with Community Action Sports (government funded initiative) to develop the Urban Surf program for youngsters from challenging backgrounds and currently delivered through ASI surf schools. Urban Surf program awarded Inspire mark under the ‘London 2012 Inspire’ programme.
