Meet the Team
Chix Surf School is owned and operated Gee Cormack. She grew up on the Northern Beaches of Sydney and has surfed her whole life. The ocean is a big part of her family so it was only natural she was going to become a surfer. From a young age, Gee would play on the clubby boards at Nippers Lifesaving and then tried surfboards and fell in love with surfing.
Gee has been surf coaching since 2007 and prior to that was training with the Olympic development team in another sport.
She set up Chix Surf School and specialised in all girl activities as she absolutely loves surfing. She grew up as the only girl in her community, where she was encouraged by her male peers. As an adult she noticed many women in the water hesitated or didn't feel confident in their ability or their environment and this is when her idea for a women's surf school started.
She wanted to be able to provide a positive, empowering and educational space for women and young girls of all levels to come and progress in their surfing
Gee is assisted in the surf school be team of experienced qualified instructors.

What the clients say:
‘Gee has an incredible depth of knowledge when it comes to surfing in all kinds of conditions. She has taught me how to read the ocean and mentally prepare myself for every surf regardless of the waves, tides, crowds and seasons. Training on the Smoothstar with Gee has helped me to exponentially progress my surfing by giving me a better understanding of the body movement and commitment required to generate speed and do turns on the wave.
On an emotional level Gee has taught me to back myself in the surf and has given me the confidence to surf outside of my comfort zone. Gee also understands the limitations of an older body that has been through two pregnancies and is able to guide me through those physical restrictions.
Most importantly, Gee has encouraged me to find the joy and fun in surfing so that I enjoy every single opportunity I have to be out in the ocean taking part in the sport that I love so much!’
‘Chix Surf School is simply AMAZING. My daughter has had lessons and has been attending the holiday clinics since the very beginning, she wouldn’t dare miss one. The surf coaching is second to none but Chix is so much more than a Surf School.
Aside from the brilliant technical instruction, the warm, fun and welcoming Chix coaches, led by the incredibly talented Gee, teach their students to read and understand the ocean, to learn how their bodies move and can adapt in the water, they instil confidence in girls and women in a way no other surf school does.
This is a surf school that offers so much more to females than any other. It is a community who love the ocean, offer brilliant coaching, incredible support and Gee always has the most beautiful team. My daughter has been so lucky to have been part of Chix for years, learning about the ocean, learning new skills and learning about herself. We are very lucky to have Gee and Chix Surf School on the Northern Beaches!’
