Learn how to surf and have surfing lessons at Inchydoney Surf School, an ASI accredited surf school, situated on the pristine blue flag sandy beach of Inchydoney, in the heart of West Cork and   only 10 minutes drive from Clonakilty.

Inchydoney Surf School has been operating since 2001 and is one if Irelands most established surf schools. 

It is owned and operated by Colum McAuley, an advanced level surfer, who has taught thousands of students at all levels.

Colum holds ASI accredited surfing instructor, surf rescue and first aid qualifications.   He also holds a Certificate in Marine Studies with Windsurfing, Sailing and Yachtmaster instructor qualifications.

He is assisted in the surf school with a team of highly experienced and qualified surfing instructors who are all locals with extensive knowledge of the best surf conditions to get you up and riding with ease.

They love to share the stoke in a fun and very safe environment.  

Surf Lessons in Inchydoney Surf School are for everyone over 8 years old.

Inchydoney Surf School offers group and private surfing lessons, beginner to advanced level, Surf Wise surfing certificate courses, surfing guide trips, surfing awareness, for kids, adults, parties, girls only, hens and stags groups, school  and youth groups and corporates. 

Kids camps are also available.

The surf school caters for one lesson or they can prepare your own programme of surfing sessions – it depends on how far you want to go with your surfing.

Lessons are delivered all year round and are open seven days a week throughout the summer.

Kids camps are available during the summer months

During the winter months, the surf school can cater for individuals and small/large groups.

Instructors are in the water with you at all times to make you feel comfortable and to help you reach that ultimate goal of catching your first wave!

The surf school is located right at the beach with toilets and changing rooms. 

Wetsuits and surfboards are provided. And if needed, boots, hoods and gloves. 

Surf lessons and activities are at Inchydoney Beach. It is one of the best locations to learn to surf and is often ranked as one of the best beaches in Ireland. 

The unspoilt, white sandy beach has small gentle waves that break a long way out, meaning you get to enjoy a longer ride back to shore.  They are ideal conditions for learning to surf.

There’s also waves for the improver to advanced level.
