Learn how to surf and have surfing lessons at Waves Surf School, an ASI accredited surf school, providing learn to surf lessons and surf adventures in beautiful national parks at Cronulla Sydney and Seal Rocks which is just 2 hours drive north of Sydney.
Meet the Team
Waves Surf School has been operating since 1999 and is owned and run by Dean Dunstone. He's been surfing for over 30 years and has surfed at locations all over the world. Dean has been an active member of surf lifesaving performing his first rescue when he was just 13 years old. He also played the part of the young surf grommet in the cult movie, Puberty Blues!
Dean is an ASI Level 3 Surfing Coach, holds his surf rescue, first aid qualifications and NSW bus operators licence. He has extensive experience in teaching surfing and running surf camps in remote locations in Australia and has also lived and been a surfing coach in California, USA. Dean is also an accomplished music promoter organising large music gigs at famous Bondi Beach - all skills he brings to Waves Surf School.
Waves Surf School is an ASI Instructor Training Centre (ITC). Dean is authorised to train others to be ASI accredited surfing instructors.
Dean is assisted in the surf school by experienced ASI qualified surfing instructors.
Service Overview
Waves Surf School offers day trips and weekend options, kids programs and school holiday camps, private groups and kids parties, surf yoga weekends and surf guiding.
Lessons are provided for beginner to advanced level.
Private surf coach to improve your surfing ability is also offered by Dean.
Private surf guiding trips can also be organised taking you to locations that suit you skills ability.
Kids surf camps are also scheduled for schools holidays. For beginner to advanced levels. Includes all equipment, BBQ lunch, certificate and t-shirt.
Location Features
Surf lessons and kids camps are held to Cronulla at Boat Harbour. It is one of Sydney’s best kept secrets. A private beach with sand dunes and great waves for surfing. But is only 35 minutes from the city centre.
Surf tours start in Sydney and head out to specially selected beaches and national parks.
Just 3 hours drive north of Sydney is the Waves Surf Camp at Seal Rocks. An unbeatable location. Situated in a pristine environment with waves on one side and a lake on the other. Stunning scenery and crowd free waves are consistent, with enough breaks for all abilities.
