Learn to stand up paddle and have stand up paddle lessons with Blue Pearl Watersports Tourism, an ASI accredited stand up paddle school, located in Doha, Qatar.
The school as founded in 2012 by passionate SUPers who have experienced the fun and transformational power of SUP and are excited to share it with you!
Meet the Team
Blue Pearl Watersports is owned and operated by Johnathan Le Marchand and Melinda Behumi. Johnathan is an experienced waterman with advanced SUP surfing and race skills, kitesurfing and surfing skills. He is also an education qualified teacher with experience delivering a range of different outdoor recreation curriculum.
Melinda is a certified yoga teacher and got involved in SUP to assist in the rehabilitation of an injury. Since then she has been hooked.
With the Blue Pearl Watersports team of qualified instructors, you are in safe hands. Whether it is one lesson or a series of lessons to progress your skills.
Or just enjoy paddling, keeping fit, making new friends and enjoying the stoke of SUP.
Service Overview
Blue Pearl Watersports offers group and private SUP lessons, team building, certificate courses, tours, SUP yoga and SUP fitness workouts for children, adults, parties, school groups, backpackers, universities and corporates.
You can also partake in downwind, distance paddling and SUP surfing – if the conditions are suitable. We even paddle half marathons and marathons around the Pearl-Qatar! Different level sessions cover different routes and challenges.
The school was the first SUP School established in Qatar. It was started to introduce others in Doha to stand up paddling, and to show people the great fun and workout that SUP allows for all age groups from children to mature age. The school is licensed by the Qatar Tourism Authority.
School Features
There are excellent facilities with changing cabins and outdoor showers.
Location Features
Lessons are held at the Base at The Pearl-Qatar, Costa Malaz Marina.
The Base also gives access to the most versatile routes in Qatar: the venetian quarter Qanat Quartier, Porto Arabia, Lusail marina, Al Aaliyah island which is a migratory base for flamingoes and other bird species.
