Meet the Team
Broadbeach Surf School has been operating since 2006, and is one of the Gold Coast’s most established surf schools.
Owned and operated by Will Forgan-Smith. He is an advanced level surfer, grew up on the Gold Coast and has surfed all over the world. He has thousands of hours experience teaching surfing on the Gold Coast to people of all abilities and ages
Will also has a degree in engineering and has worked in both the mining and construction industry. But he is back doing what he loves most, and that’s meeting new people and sharing the joy of surfing!
Will is assisted in the surf school with qualified surfing instructors, holding surf rescue and senior first aid qualifications.
Service Overview
Broadbeach Surf School offers group and private surfing lessons for beginner to advanced level for all ages and abilities.
They also specialise in people who have had one or 2 lessons and want to become a proficient surfer to intermediate to semi advanced level.

Broadbeach Surf School also specialises in providing lessons and experiences for larger groups. They can cater for school groups, university and college clubs, bucks and hens parties, birthday celebrations, corporate events, and much more.
Ocean awareness and safety programs are provided free of charge. Broadbeach Surf School also want to share their knowledge of the ocean to give people the ability to be able to read the conditions and improve peoples ocean awareness and safety.
Surfboard rentals are also available.
Location Features
Broadbeach is a beach break that offers a range of conditions – an ideal location to do your surfing apprenticeship. If you can become a competent surfer in Broadbeach, you can surf just about anywhere!
It is the next beach down from Surfers Paradise but Broadbeach is much quieter and more laid back which can be ideal for people wanting to experience an uncrowded surfing experience on the Gold Coast.
Broadbeach is also popular with families.

Gold Coast is famous for its world class surf breaks and surfing lifestyle. The beaches along the coast offer white sands and clear waters, with various levels waves suitable up to elite level.
There are a number of theme parks including Sea World, Dreamworld with its thrilling rides and Warners Bros. Movie World.
Other famous local attractions include Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary that features native Australian wildlife and the SkyPoint Observation Deck at Surfers Paradise that offers stunning view of the Gold Coast.
Check out nearby South Stradbroke Island that is accessible by a short ferry trip. This island offers pristine beaches, water sports, and a chance to escape the hustle and bustle of the mainland.
Just a short drive inland is Tamborine Mountain that offers rainforest walks, scenic lookouts, and vineyards. As well as Springbrook National Park with its stunning waterfalls and Lamington National Park famous for its famous for its ancient rainforests and hiking trails.
