Learn how to stand up paddle and have SUP lessons at Burrill Lake Stand Up Paddle Shop, an ASI accredited SUP school, located at the town of Burrill Lake, near Ulladulla. It’s a popular holiday destination about a 3 ½ hour drive south of Sydney (approx.. 250 km / 155 miles).
Meet the Team
Burrill Lake Stand Up Paddle Shop is owned and operated by Dominica Strano. She started paddling in 2011, was a member of the local SUP club entering races and social paddles, competes on a national basis in SUP racing and also owns the SUP shop at Burrill Lake.
Dominica is a local with intimate knowledge of the local area, water and weather conditions. She loves paddling and is happiest when showing visitors and others the local waterways from a SUP board.
An experienced paddle and SUP coach, Dominica is known for her ability to create a welcoming environment for beginners and paddlers of all abilities.
She is an ASI Level 2 SUP Instructor (Exposed Waters) holding rescue and first aid qualifications and is assisted in the SUP school by ASI accredited SUP instructors.

Burrill Lake SUP offers group and private SUP lessons, certificate courses, SUP tours for children, adults, corporate groups and team building sessions, parties and kids birthday parties.
They specialise in lessons and tours for family groups as the lake has ideal safe, shallow conditions.

Location Features
Lessons, tours and rentals are held on the beautiful Burrill Lake. You can launch from the Burrill Lake SUP Shop (at 102 McDonald Parade) which is located right on the shore. It’s a fantastic location, offering ease of entry and exit from the water.
Burrill Lake is a stunning lake of approx. 4 square kilometers. It is connected to the Tasman Sea by Burrill Inlet, a 3-kilometer-long channel. It is contains both fresh water from inflowing creeks and salt water from sea creating a unique ecosystem that supports a variety of aquatic life.
It’s the perfect body of water to explore the shoreline and small inlets on a stand up paddle board. Surrounded by stunning natural surroundings with bush settings and an abundance of wildlife, you will see birds and marine life as you paddle along.
The Lake also offers a protected and safe paddling location. The serene and shallow waters are perfect for beginners, while still providing enough space for more advanced paddlers.
Lessons and rentals are also held at nearby locations including Tabourie Lake, Narrawalle Inlet and Conjola Lake, Ulladulla Harbour and North Mollymook Beach. All locations are chosen for their ideal paddling locations and natural settings.
