Learn how to surf and have surf lessons at Gerringong Surf School, an ASI accredited learn to surf school, located at Gerringong, about 2 hour’s drive south of Sydney. 

Gerringong Surf School is owned and operated by Rusty Moran.  He is an elite advanced surfer and was a professional big wave surfer for a number of years.  He has surfed around the world and has coached thousands of people from beginner to advanced level. 

Rusty is an ASI accredited surfing instructor, holding surf rescue and first aid qualifications.  He also holds an engineering degree and is schooled in breaking down complex patterns into small chucks.   These are the same concepts he applies to surfing whether you want to learn or to improve your surfing skills.

Currently completing a PhD in surf therapy to help veterans heal from PTSD, Rusty is also the founder of the Veteran Surf Project charity. 

Rusty is assisted by a team of highly skilled ASI-certified instructors who are passionate about surfing and dedicated to helping you achieve your surfing goals.

Gerringong Surf School  offers group and private surfing lessons, Surf Wise beginner to advanced surfing certificate courses, team building, surfing awareness for kids, adults, parties, school groups, parties, hens and stag parties and corporates.  

Surf and skateboard kids camps are also offered. 

We will teach you the correct technique for standing up and turning as well as fitness exercises to get in and stay in great shape for surfing.

For advanced surfers, we provide in-depth coaching one on one to really help with improving everyday surfing, technique correction using video analysis and simulation on the smoothstar skateboards.

Surfing sessions are held at Seven Mile Beach, renowned for its scenic beauty, white sands, and clear waters.

This stunning location provides ideal conditions for all skill levels, with waves that are gentle enough for beginners yet challenging enough for advanced surfers.

The beach also offers convenient facilities, including toilets, showers, BBQs, and picnic areas.

After your session, relax at nearby cafes and restaurants to soak up the relaxed coastal vibe.

Surrounding much of Seven Mile Beach, this national park features walking trails, picnic spots, and BBQ facilities. Visitors can explore bushland trails, take in coastal views, and spot native wildlife.

The Gerringong headland offers panoramic ocean views and is one of the best spots in the area for whale watching during migration.

Gerringong’s town center has a variety of cafes, local shops, and art galleries.

Nearby is the historic town of Berry.  Vist Werri Beach Rock Pool a beautiful swimming spot or check out local wineries.
