Learn how to surf and have surfing lessons at Jervis Bay Surf School, an ASI accredited surf school. Located at Jervis Bay and Sussex Inlet, 2 ½ hours drive south of Sydney.
Surfing lessons are held in the beautiful Booderee National Park, Jervis Bay and Berrara Beach in Sussex Inlet.
Meet the Team
Jervis Bay Surf School is owned and operated by Jerry Brown. Jerry grew up in the area and has over 25 years surfing experience and plenty of local knowledge.
He is teacher trained and also a Lifeguard Supervisor holding the high level Gold, Silver and Bronze medallions, Advanced Resuscitation, Senior First Aid, Defibrillation and Spinal Management certificates making your experiences all the more safer.
The surf school has been operating since 2007, delivering lessons to thousands of people, with great results and happy people !
He is assisted by ASI qualified instructors, holding surf rescue, and first aid qualifications.
Service Overview
Jervis Bay Surf School offers group and private lessons, five day packages, surfing trips/tours, 5 day surfing camps, team building, surf awareness, parties, school groups and corporate groups.
They can also design a custom-made package to suit your needs.
With a specially developed learn to surf program, Jerry and his team of qualified instructors will have standing up and riding the waves on your first lesson.
School Features
Caves Beach, Booderee National Park, has cold showers, fresh water, toilets and wood barbecues. There is a camping area 300 metres from the car park.
Berrara Beach, Jervis Bay has toilet facilities, parking and cafes nearby.

Lessons are also held at Caves Beach, in Sussex Inlet.
They are stunning locations, with crystal clear water, plentiful marine life and some of the whitest sand in the world.
The waves are ideal for learning to surf or perfecting your surfing abilities.

Jervis Bay is home to some unique surf spots like the Aussie Pipe at Summercloud Shipwrecks Bay, known for its powerful hollow right-handers. Other great spots include Steamers Beach, Cave Beach, and Bherwerre Beach, each offering different wave types and surfing experiences.
Jervis Bay is surrounded by the Booderee National Park. It spans 6,379 hectares, including 875 hectares of marine environment. It's home to pristine beaches, lush forests, and crystal-clear waters, coastal and boardwalks, with breathtaking scenery and a serene environment.
Booderee means "bay of plenty" in the Dhurga (Aboriginal) language. The Booderee Botanic Gardens are Australia's only Aboriginal-owned and managed botanic gardens, covering 80 hectares, showcasing native plants and provide a unique insight into the traditional customs.
Jervis Bay is renowned for its dolphin and whale watching. There is a great variety of other water activities.
Nearby is Huskinsson, a charming village is the heart of Jervis Bay, offering cafes, restaurants, shops, and beautiful beaches.
