Learn how to stand up paddle and have SUP lessons and tours at Shannon SUP, an ASI accredited SUP school, located Digby Bridge, Aghpaudeen, Co. Kildare.

It’s a beautiful part of the Grand Canal near Sallins and Naas and only 45 minute drive west of Dublin.

Shannon SUP is owned and operated by Mark Guckian.  He has been stand up paddling since 2014  and has been and instructor and operating the SUP school since 2018 in the Midlands in Ireland.

Mark set up the SUP school as he loves stand up paddling and wanted to introduce others to the sport in a scenic and safe location.

He is an ASI Level 1 SUP Instructor (Enclosed Flat Water) and also holds water rescue, first aid and Level 2 kayaking instructor qualifications.

Mark is assisted in the SUP school with experienced and accredited ASI SUP instructors.

Shannon SUP offers group and private lessons, SUP Wise learn to SUP certificate courses, SUP tours/surfaris for kids, adults and parties.

They specialise in standup paddle board tours for small groups. 

Kids camps are conducted throughout the year.

SUP tours/surfaris can be tailored to suit individual groups needs, and conditions on the day.

A beautiful part of the canal, see the sights of canal life and nature as you paddle along.     

The canal is not very wide and is only 5-6ft deep.  It’s ideal for SUP tours, to learn to paddle and/or develop your SUP skills. 

You can even take a dip in the water, if you get too hot !

Nearby at Lock 13, just outside the barge in Sallins, is home to Kildare Brewing and some amazing pub food.
