Meet the Team
Operating since 2017, Stand Up Paddle Boarding Shellharbour is widely respected in the local community for its professionalism, strong sense of community, and commitment to quality education. The school has won numerous tourism awards over the years and is the creator of the Shellharbour SUP Festival, an annual SUP competition event featuring additional festival activities.
Stand Up Paddle Boarding Shellharbour is owned and operated by Rebecca and Jason Dunning. They started the SUP school to introduce others to the sport. It’s a dream come true to be able to make a living doing what you enjoy and sharing SUP and fitness.
Rebecca’s love for the ocean began in childhood, growing up surfing and bodyboarding. She competed at an international level in bodyboarding and actively participated in surf lifesaving. She is also a professional fitness trainer with extensive experience in personal training and fitness centre management.
She holds a range of qualifications- Level 1 SUP Instructor to Level 3 SUP Surfing Instructor, surf lifesaving, first aid, Certificate III and IV in Fitness, YogaFit Instructor and is registered with Fitness Australia. She is also ASI SUP Trainer, qualified to train others to become SUP Instructors and SUP Fitness Instructors
Justin is an advanced level surfer and assists in the SUP School. He’s qualified up to ASI Level 3 SUP Surfing. They are both passionate about all types of watercraft, with a particular love for SUP.
They are assisted in the SUP School by experienced. ASI accredited SUP Instructors.
Service Overview
Stand Up Paddle Boarding Shellharbour offers group and private lessons, SUP Wise learn to SUP certificate courses, SUP tours, SUPYoga, SUPFit, team building and rentals for all ages and parties, school groups and corporates.
The school specialises in SUP wellness sessions, offering fun, nature-connected activities that help improve core strength, overall fitness, and flexibility.
SUPYoga sessions provide a tranquil workout experience in shallow waters, surrounded by the calming sounds of nature. For a more vigorous exercise, SUPFit sessions take you out of the gym and into the outdoors, featuring fitness routines specially adapted for paddleboarding.
Both SUPYoga and SUPFit classes are available year-round, including pool-based options during the cooler months.
SUP Ball is another exciting activity offered, featuring a fun and competitive event where participants aim to score goals while balancing on their paddleboards.
Customised experiences for corporate teams incorporate a range of team building activities.

Location Features
SUP sessions take place at Reddal Reserve, Lake Illawarra—a perfect spot for gliding across calm waters surrounded by nature's beauty.
The area is teeming with birdlife, including pelicans, cormorants, herons, black swans, and spoonbills. If you're lucky, you might even catch a glimpse of dolphins or penguins in the water.
Depending on your skill level, other locations may also be available. Nearby, you'll find flat ocean waters and beginner-friendly surf spots where you can have fun and further develop your skills.
