Meet the Team
Stand Up Surfing is a family-owned and operated business, with three generations actively involved.
Craig Fisher, the owner and operator, hails from one of the original board riding families in Perth, Western Australia. His father was a pioneer in the sport, riding canvas and wood stand-up skis during the 1940s and 1950s—skills Craig learned growing up alongside him.
With over 35 years of experience as a lifeguard, including a decade as a professional, Craig has traveled globally for lifeguarding and competitions, including Cornwall, UK, Australia, and South Africa. He holds multiple ASI SUP Instructor qualifications, including Level 4 SUP Surfing Instructor, Level 3 Downwind Instructor, and SUP Technical Coach.
Craig’s father-in-law, Peter Cuff, was among the first in South Africa to create stand-up paddlecraft in the 1950s and continues to SUP surf well into his 80s.
The entire family is immersed in the sport, with Craig’s children and extended family members also certified as ASI SUP instructors and surf life-savers.
Their connection to the Gnarabup region goes back to the 1950s, and for the past 25 years, they have called it home, gaining extensive knowledge of its waterways and ocean.
