Meet the Team
Todd Nosworthy, the owner and operator of Tide Riders Surf School, is an elite-advanced level surfer with extensive experience surfing various breaks across Australia, Indonesia, Fiji, and the US. With a background in Sport and Exercise Science and Sports Teaching, Todd is an ASI accredited surfing instructor, holding surf rescue and first aid qualifications.
Surfing has always been Todd's passion, which naturally led him to become a surfing instructor. After gaining experience at other surf schools around the world, Todd decided to establish his own school in Esperance, known for its excellent surf and uncrowded beaches.
For Todd, being a surfing instructor and guide goes beyond teaching people how and where to surf. It's about creating a positive and welcoming environment where everyone feels comfortable and supported, ensuring that every student leaves with a stoked feeling both in and out of the water.

Location Features
Surf lessons are held at Fourth Beach. It is a surfer's paradise, offering a long stretch of coast with various sand bank breaks that cater to different skill levels. The beach is known for its beautiful, clear waters and consistent swells and all year round waves.
It is ideal location to learn to surf, with small rolling waves. The location also has more advanced level surf for people who want to progress / improve their surfing skills.
Fourth Beach is surrounded by stunning natural beauty, bearing in mind it is hundreds of miles from the nearest town.
Surf breaks are still uncrowded and you can enjoy being at one with nature and soak up the natural beauty, and the amazing sunsets.
School Features
Fourth beach has clean and accessible toilets and beach showers. There is ample parking and picnic areas with tables.
Close to the beach, you'll find local cafés and shops where you can grab refreshments and beach essentials.
Tourist Attractions
Esperance is a hidden gem on the southern coast of Western Australia, known for its stunning natural beauty and variety of attractions. Cape Le Grand National Park is a highlight, with its beautiful beaches like Lucky Bay, Hellfire Bay, and Le Grand Beach, perfect for swimming, snorkeling, fishing, and hiking.
The Great Ocean Drive offers a scenic 40-km loop with breathtaking coastal view where you can enjoy the scenery and dolphin encounters.
Lucky Bay is famous for kangaroos lounging on the pristine white sand. Pink Lake, with its unique pink-hued waters, provides a picturesque spot for photos.
