Learn how to stand up paddle at UltraMissions, an ASI accredited stand up paddleboard school and training centre, located near the shores of Lake Erie at Rocky River / Cleveland, Ohio.

UltraMissions has been owned and operated by Dr. Lynne Nagy since 2010. Safety of clients is her first concern as well as teaching people a new sport. Lynne’s passion has always been to promote the sport, to help get as many people as possible out paddleboarding as safely as possible with proper instruction.

Lynne has been Stand Up Paddleboarding since 2008, when she was inspired by a photo of Laird Hamilton paddling across the cover of Outside Magazine. Since then, she has actively promoted the sport throughout the Great Lakes region, the east and west coast of the United States, and internationally.

As the headmaster of UltraMissions, she aims to empower children, teens, and adults with a stronger sense of self and an appetite for adventure.

Lynne is an ASI trainer and an experienced educational facilitator. She is certified to train ASI Level 1 and Level 2 SUP Instructors for Enclosed Flat Water and Exposed Waters locations, as well as Water Rescue.

She has a PhD in Learning & Development from Cleveland State University, with an emphasis on experiential learning and Outward Bound and holds a permanent teaching certificate in the State of Ohio. Additionally Lynne is certified as an American Red Cross Lifeguard instructor, CPR and first aid instructor. Lynne’s team of experienced and accredited SUP instructors work to provide the safest and most thorough SUP instruction in the Midwest.

UltraMissions is a SUP ASI Instructor Training Centre and Lynne Nagy is authorised to train others to be ASI SUP Instructors. 

UltraMissions provides group and private lessons, core fitness classes, expeditions, SUP Wise certificate courses, corporate lessons and team building activities, kids’ programs, race league, the annual Nalu U race & festival, workshops, boot camps, and parties throughout the year!

The school operates at Lake Erie: Rocky River, a short 3/4 mile paddle out to Lake Erie; and Bradstreet Landing, a Rocky River beach launch and protected pier directly on Lake Erie.

Stand up paddleboard programs are available for children, families, school groups, and the general public. Sessions are tailored to paddlers’ experiences to meet their paddling needs and conditions.

Flat water paddling on the scenic Rocky River offers the opportunity to paddle around Cleveland Yacht Club island, Clifton Lagoon (the site of Elliot Ness’s home), and along the passage to Lake Erie.

Lake Erie has both protected areas and exposed waters offering wind and wave challenges.
