About Marios
Marios Trigonis is a sea lover with a path on wind and waves. He loves sports and water is his second home. Surfing around the world always looking forward new spots and new experience. Training for him never ends. A highly experienced stand up paddler and instructor as well, rescue swimmer in Hellenic Rescue Team, with previous professional lifeguard experience holding first aid/AED qualifications
Based in Crete, Greece, Marios has been involved in the SUP scene since 2008, its early days of popularity. He was involved of the early training of the SUP in Crete since 2012 and introducing SUP to many Cretans, Greeks and since 2017 as an ASI SUP instructor - first ever in Greece.
From 2012 Marios is the CEO and Owner of his watersport club well known in Greece “Surf In Crete“ for the watersports: SUP, surfing, bodyboarding, kitesurf, windsurf, sailing.
Surf In Cete is an IKO affiliated Kitesurfing School and an ASI Accredited SUP School.
Marios is also an IKO Level 3 instructor as well with more than 2750 teaching hours, and a kitesurf athlete from the Helenic Sailing Federation , and a SUP Athlete from the Greek Canoe Kayak Federation,
In 2019, Marios included a Sailing Coach and a team of local professionals to create NAOM Nautical Athletic Club of Malia, with more than 100 young athletes and members training in SUP and sailing. Qualified by the Helenic Sailing Federation and Helenic Canoe Kayak Federation as an official Greek sport training club.
Through his own SUP school, Surf in Crete, Marios has delivered SUP lessons to 1000’s of clients from beginner to advanced and from individuals to corporates and to the disadvantaged.
His Center has been awarded, 3 years in a row 2020,2021,2022 - Travel and Hospitality awards as a winner in 3 categories : 2020 excellent in Branding in Crete / 2021 adventure activity of the year / 2022 surf school of the year.
Marios holds the following SUP instructor certification – ASI SUP Instructor in enclosed and exposed water conditions L1 & L2 , SUP Surf L3. He is member and rescue swimmer in Hellenic Rescue Team, first person on skin L1, sea rescue training from RS+ and a Senior First Aid Holder, with many hours in search and rescue missions in Greece.
