About Scott

Scott was born and raised along the shores of Long Island, New York and is the true embodiment of a “Waterman”.

He has competed in over 100 surf competitions and has over 20 years of surf and SUP instruction for children and adults from beginner to elite advanced and competition level.  

He also is an ocean rescue lifeguard and trainer.

Stand Up Paddle Experience

  • Supping since 2003 when he had a prototype board built locally

  • Elite advanced SUP surfing skill

  • Competition race and downwind skills

  • 2012 World Paddle Association Age Group World Champion.

  • Competed in the 2011& 2012 Battle of the Paddle

  • Represented the East Coast in the 2009 Stand Up Paddle World Championships in Hawaii.

  • One of the veteran paddlers in the SEAPADDLE around Manhattan for Autism

  • Event director and organiser of SUP races for competition and charity

Coaching and Training Experience

  • Over 25 years of surf and SUP instruction for children and adults.

  • Trains ASI SUP instructors in the USA.

  • Trains ocean rescue lifeguards in USA.

  • Personal coach for SUP paddling skills, elite SUP downwind and competition racing.

  • Instructor and assessor for Nippers lifesaving program

  • Co-owner of stand up paddle school, Paddle Diva

  • Eight times Ironman finisher, 5 times marathon finisher as well as having completed many local triathlons and adventure races.

  • Represented the East Coast at the 1992 United States Surfing Championships.

  • NY State District Director, Eastern Surfing Association from 1986-1992.

  • Represented the east coast in the United States Amateur Surfing Championships in 1993.

  • 1992 NYS Long Board Surfing Champion

  • NCAA Division 1 swimmer
