About Tyson 

Tyson Greenaway is a highly experienced surfer with 30 years of British surfing, competition and coaching knowledge.

Based in Gwithian, Cornwall, UK, he has been coaching at and running the popular Gwithian Academy of Surfing since 1999.
 
He has been on top-level surf coaching committees and has helped to develop Britain’s surf coaching awards during the late 2000’s. He has also coached the British Junior Surfing Squad in 2002, 2004, 2007 (as Head Coach) and 2008.
 
Once a regular competitor he now prefers to pass on his knowledge to the local groms in West Cornwall. His last competition was in the European Surfing Championships where he finished 5th overall.

Surfing Experience

• Elite-advanced surfing skill

• Regular surf competitor during the 90’s. Highest finish of 5th in the British standings.

Coaching and Training Experience

• ​Trains ASI instructors in the UK and other countries.

• Surfing instructor since 1999, instructing beginner to advanced levels

• Personal coach for high performance competition surfing skills

• Owner of surf school: Gwithian Academy of Surfing Cornwall UK.  Established 1999.
