(IPDJ Credits) SUP Instruction Skills for Enclosed Flat Waters

This 2 day course covers the skills and knowledge to instruct individuals in stand up paddle skills for enclosed flat water locations, how to deliver learn to SUP sessions, how to manage students, safety and risk management and SUP paddle stroke and other SUP skills techniques.
Your trainers are highly experienced stand up paddlers and SUP school operators, providing a wealth of information and inside tips. ASI is the world leader is SUP education training.
Approved by the IPDJ, you will earn 3 Credits (3 Unidades de Crédito, IPDJ). This is a participation course only, with no formal assessment. Once you attend the workshop you are eligible to receive the IPDJ approved ASI course certificate.
There is a special discount fee for ASI Instructors.
Aim
Deliver basic SUP sessions for flat water locations (including lakes, rivers). This is the entry level course for teaching SUP skills.
Locations
The training applies to:
inland waterways including rivers, lakes, lagoons, estuaries, canals, enclosed harbours without swell
with no swell or breaking waves
wind speed less than 12 knots
no more than 250 metres from shore

Topics Covered
Identify laws and regulations that apply to conducting SUP lessons
Identify enclosed flat water SUP lesson/activity risks and hazards
Emergency processes and response
Logistics and how to plan enclosed flat water SUP sessions
Suitable boards, equipment and resources
Methods to manage clients safely
Deliver basic SUP lessons and SUP activities
Understand correct paddling technique including the 5 phases of the paddle stroke
Minimise environmental impacts (social & natural)
Entry Requirements
Hold a current Treinador De Desporto Surfing Grau 1
Experienced at paddling in flat water conditions
Study Options
Workshop: An intensive course that focuses on the major components, with the ability to interact with the trainer and the group.
Duration: 2 days. 9am to 5.30pm
