This combined course is for 200 hour yoga professionals. It provides the knowledge and skills to safely deliver and design SUP yoga sessions on a SUP board in the water.
The SUP board challenges and intensifies SUP yoga moves and the water offers a calming, relaxing environment. It’s a great way to expand your services. SUP Yoga sessions are in demand.
Bonus: you also get access to online manuals for: ASI SUP Wise Intensiv for SUP paddling skills and ASI SUP Rescue Safety skills.

An ASI accredited SUP Yoga Teacher is part of the ASI worldwide community. Your qualification is international. You get to work with great people in amazing locations.
Aim
Deliver basic SUP yoga sessions at flat water locations, no more than 50 metres from shore.
Locations
Qualified to teach at SUP yoga locations, defined as:
inland waters or coastal locations with flat water, no swell or breaking waves, minimal or no wind
water depth no more than 4ft (standing depth)
no more than 50 metres from shore
paddling less than 50 metres to get to the SUP yoga activity area
Note: This SUP Yoga Teacher qualification does not qualify you to deliver sessions in deep water or paddling more than 50 metres.
Optional: Once you have completed this ASI SUP Yoga Teacher course, you can enrol in the ASI Level 1 SUP Instructor (Enclosed Flat Water) course – as this covers teaching paddling skills for clients and safely managing clients in deep water.

Entry Requirements
Before starting this course:
hold a Yoga Teacher Certificate (minimum 200 hours).
have participated in, or practiced on your own, a minimum of 10 hours of SUP yoga sessions.
a minimum of 20 hours on water stand up paddling experience.

Course Requirements

Knowledge and Skills
Review ASI SUP Yoga Teacher theory, complete assessments and exercises.
Review of basic stand up paddling skills and basic rescue skills.
Complete multi-choice online tests.
Demonstrate ability to perform seated and standing SUP Yoga poses with safety.
Demonstrate ability to prepare the class - enter the water, anchoring, organise group ready to start the session.
Demonstrate ability to conduct class with correct sequencing, techniques and safety.
Practical Hours Experience
Complete 10 hours practical work experience, assisting in the delivery of SUP Yoga sessions at an ASI or approved SUP school.
Recognition of previous SUP yoga teaching experience can be accepted.

Submit your Yoga Teacher Certificate (minimum 200 hours) - submit at time of enrolment
Submit a current senior first aid certificate Acceptable First Aid certificates

Submit Working with Children Check: if applicable to your country.
Note: First Aid Certificate can be provided before or after workshop or within 12 months of enrolment.
Time to Complete: You have 12 months from date of workshop, or date of online enrolment, to complete all course requirements.
Re-assessment Fees
Re-assessment fee applies if not yet competent in SUP yoga poses, ability to prepare class, ability to conduct class. See Fees
Equipment
The following equipment and clothing is required to complete the training:
SUP Yoga or flat water stand up paddle board, paddle, coiled leash
SUP clothing suitable for SUP Yoga
Computer or mobile phone to access ASI’s elearning platform to view SUP Wise Intensiv and SUP Rescue online reference manuals
In addition, for the Online learning option:
Video camera or mobile phone to take video of practical skills and submit online
2 x persons to be your clients

Renewal
Each year, ASI SUP Yoga Teachers renew their ASI SUP Yoga Teacher certificate.

An intensive face to face course that focuses on the major components, with the ability to interact with the trainer and the group. SUP Yoga poses and delivery techniques are assessed at the workshop.
