Only 2 hours drive north of Sydney, with a range of excellent bodyboarding surf breaks for all levels.

Bodyboarding Coaching Australia is owned and run by Jimmy Leayr.   He has elite bodyboarding skill and regularly competes in local, national and state championships with 1st to  3rd placings.  

Has been bodyboarding coaching for over 6 years.  He also been providing bodyboarding competition coaching for local bodyboard club, for Groms division under 12’s and under 14’s  and for all ages at NSW State Titles and Australian State Champions.

Jimmy started the bodyboarding school because of his love of bodyboarding and to introduce others bodyboarding.

At BCA, we believe that bodyboarding is more than just a sport—it's a way of life. Our mission is to create a supportive and dynamic learning environment where riders of all ages and skill levels can thrive.

Jimmy is the main instructor, holding ASI Bodyboarding Instructor qualifications and is assisted by instructors, holding surf rescue, and first aid qualifications.

Bodyboard Coaching Australia offers group and private bodyboarding lessons, Bodyboard Wise certificate courses, team building, surfing awareness for kids, adults, parties, school groups, parties, hens and stag parties and corporates. 

We offer personalised coaching programs tailored for your specific needs and goals – for beginner to advanced level and competition coaching.

All our programs cover comprehensive instruction in a variety of areas, including wave selection, body positioning, maneuver execution, and board control.

Bodyboarding retreats of 3 days duration are held throughout the year.  Suitable for all skill levels, from beginners to advanced riders.

We aim to empower you to progress at your own pace and achieve breakthroughs in your riding abilities.

Bodyboarding lessons and activities are held at Nobbys Beach,  one of Newcastle’s highest profile beach and a favoured by all ages and family groups.

Nobbys Beach has a sandy bottom (no rocks) and is mostly protected from high swells so the surf is not too large.

It is a lifeguard patrolled beach and perfect for learning to bodyboard.

Car park is opposite the beach.

Recreational area opposite the beach with barbecue facilities and a kiosk selling coffee and food.
